“When we decided to sell our home, Caty was referred to us by our realtor. She met with us for the initial walk through and quickly identified the ways she thought the home would be more presentable to prospective buyers.
We were somewhat hesitant initially, as we have not staged our previous homes. Because Caty is also a designer, she suggested that we put new carpet in a couple of the bedrooms and paint the main level. After her explanation of why it began to make sense. She brought us carpet samples, she has a great installer, and we did it. Her painter was outstanding, and the color was spot on without us having to change the flooring the main level. She also commented that it’s essential to pick out colors and styles as if you were buying because often, clients change their mind halfway through the selling process.
We had not signed any paper at that point. Caty believed she could drastically change the value of our home for $5000-$7000. We were hesitant at first but decided to do it after hearing her ideas. To make a long story short, she was right, we decided to stay in our home after she redesigned it. Caty asked us to remove some of our furniture (storage unit), declutter and remove and change out our appliances. She brought in her furniture and wall décor and she completely transformed our house. She did ask that we go out of town or away for the weekend. Upon our return, my husband and I could not believe it was the same house. She did remove more of our stuff and replace it with hers, but we loved it.
Today we are living in this home. Caty helped us shop for new furniture; she redesigned the kitchen; the master bath and she is now redoing the lower level. We highly recommend Caty both for staging and design. We will continue to have her help us with a few other recommendations she has when the timing is right.”

My wife and I fell in love with our first home’s location on a beautiful riverfront lot. However, the 1950’s
rambler needed a lot of TLC after the previous owner attempted to convert it into a multi‐dwelling unit.

While we began to make plans to return the confusing layout to a more open, live able, space it became increasingly clear that we needed help. What would be possible? What could we afford? Do we have the time? We had a lot of questions.

“I’ve known Caty since I worked for her when she was a regional manager. We lost contact for a couple of years, but luckily was able to find her on Facebook. We quickly got caught up and she told me about her design business. Oddly enough my husband and I had been talking about updating our home, as we planned on selling it within the next 3 – 5 years. Caty lives in Minnesota and I live in Wisconsin, but I thought I would take a chance and ask her if she would come over before we started any updating.

Two weeks later she drove 3 ½ hours and arrived at our home. My husband and I knew what we wanted to spend and knowing Caty’s taste were fearful we underestimated. We asked Caty to walk the house and tell us what she thought it needed to be updated enough to sell.

We were amazed at the difference the changes Caty recommended made to our home. Light fixtures, faucets, a new vanity in the master bath, new wall décor, and a handful of other outdated items were changed. Our house is ready to go on the market at any time. Caty repeatedly told us, “anything you do must be something timeless, that any average person would walk in and not say, “we need to change this.”

“In the Summer of 2018, I started a major remodel on my newly purchased home. I wanted a rustic feel, but also somewhat of a modern look. I knew exactly what I wanted, could picture it, yet being a single guy, wasn’t quite sure how I was going to make it work. While talking to a friend one day he told me about Caty. He said, “she isn’t like the typical designer. She is down to earth and can read people and figure out what they want very quickly.” I have to admit I was a bit skeptical. After some difficulty making decisions and time not on my side, I gave Caty a call. I knew immediately on the phone it was the right decision.
She met me at the house and began asking questions. One of them being whether I intended to keep the furniture I had or whether I was replacing it. When I told her I planned on keeping it, she asked how far away my current home was (I hadn’t moved yet), and if we could go there so she could see it. She had already driven an hour and a half (the home is out in the country) and the home I sold was 30 minutes away from that house. She said, “to get the new home perfect, she needed to see that home and furniture and the distance didn’t matter.” So off we went. When we arrived, she asked more questions! I didn’t understand at the time why she cared since it was already sold. Looking back, I knew why she wanted to see it. She made mental notes of the things I really liked and made sure they were incorporated into the new one. She also made sure that my existing furniture would work with what color choices were chosen in the new home. After our initial meeting she came back to the new home with paint, tile, flooring and other samples. I had already purchased my countertops so her color selection needed to work with them. However, she also brought with her a completely different color palette, which puzzled me. I quickly learned why. In a very professional and humble way she told me she “didn’t think the countertops I purchased would work for the look I was trying to achieve” Needless to say, I sold my granite countertops and different ones took their place!
I could tell immediately the first time I met Caty that she understood what I wanted and felt confident I would have the end result I was looking for. After a couple meetings, my contractor saw Caty’s knowledge of materials and professionalism and he was quickly on board. They worked together on timelines and designs, and he told me prior to meeting her that he does not like working with designers.

In the end, Caty chose the tile and designed the layout in the shower and floor, chose the entire home’s flooring, kitchen and bathroom countertops, indoor and outdoor light fixtures, sinks and all faucets, mirrors and paint colors for the entire house. Then she purchased all the items and delivered them to my house.
I could not be happier with how it turned out. Every time I step inside the house, I can say it truly feels like a home. Caty has checked up multiple times since it has been finished to see how I like it and how I’m doing.

“I started working with Caty back in 2016 when we built our home and I was looking for more options other than what my builder’s designing service center had to offer us. Caty was great to work with, because if she didn’t have it, she was willing to get more products in to look at which gave us a ton more options. We had so many decisions to make at that time that I ended up changing my mind a lot—right, Caty? Rather than being annoyed (as others had been in the past), she was very happy to make any changes necessary. She would often say, “I want you to love it, so we’ll find something you love!” I knew Caty truly meant it, and that alone took a ton of stress off me because I knew If we didn’t like it, she would make it right—and she did!!!
We obviously had a budget to stay within, so if we found a product that we loved that was out of our budget, she would work with the manufacturer to make it happen for us. I have never had that kind of customer service before in my life. If that’s not going above and beyond, I don’t know what is. I would absolutely recommend Caty (and I have). As a matter of fact, I already had a backsplash chosen for our kitchen with another designer before connecting with Caty. When Caty saw the backsplash she said, “I think in a few years you’re going to be sick of it, maybe we should look at some other options.” Caty, you were RIGHT! When I hire a contractor, I expect things to be done right the first time. In fact, some contractors have called us “unattainable” in the past because our vision of done right is not ¼ inch off, and Caty totally gets that. She has some of the best contractors in the business that she chooses to work with, and good contractors are hard to find.

She provided me with samples, photos, layouts, and she was professional and patient with my indecisiveness. She is a perfectionist, yet was conscientious of our budget. “I have had the pleasure to work with Caty Greseth of Creations by Caty several times over the past few years.

The first time we used Caty, it was to update much of the flooring throughout our home. Caty provided a number of options, along with her recommended choices (which we took). We replaced old linoleum in our kitchen and the dated flooring in all bathrooms, along with indoor-outdoor carpeting in our three season porch. Caty made the process simple, taking care of material ordering and even arranging for the work through several contractors she uses. The work was performed on-time and workmanship of the installation was excellent.

Our positive experience with Caty lead me to again reach out to her a few years later when it was time to sell my home. This time, serious upgrading was needed to the areas we passed up the first time. Caty made recommendations for materials to update our kitchen counters, wall tile for the kitchen backsplash, and upgraded bedroom and living room carpeting.

Caty’s attention to detail even extended to small items, such as modifying the treads of our carpeted stairs to “Hollywood style” for additional visual appeal. Caty even provided color recommendations for repainting several rooms, even though she was not going to be involved in the repaint.

Once again we relied on Caty for recommendations on installers and she arranged all details, working with us and the installers for scheduling, etc. The end result was stunning and I received numerous comments from friends on how much we had done to the house and how wonderful everything looked. Thanks to Caty, we were able to complete all updating and upgrades, and sold the house very quickly.
